Michael Baah

Michael is the founder and team leader at Micon Consult (formally Baah Acheamfour Consult.). Mike is a senior finance executive with over eighteen years’ experience and ambitious professional person with extensive qualifications and knowledge in the fields of Tax, Financial Management, Accounting, Auditing (both internal and external), Risk Management, System Deficiencies and Internal Control Reviews, Special Investigations and Fraud Assessment, Human Resource Management, Financial Markets, Business Plans, Feasibility Studies, Proposals, Restructuring, Rescue Financing and Consulting in practice, who has particular attention to detail with a creative and innovative approach to solving problems.

Academically, he is a Business School graduate of Valley View University-Oyibi with BBA-Accounting Degree and MBA -Finance Degree from Assam Down Town University, India with distinction.

Michael is a Chartered Accountant (CA), a Fellow of Certified Public Accountant (FCPA), Professional Certified Forensic Accountant (PCFA) and a Chartered Certified Tax Accountant (CCTA) by Profession and a member in good standing with the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana.

 He has taken a lead role in several consulting engagements as a Regional Overall Team Leader, Audit Committee Chairman, Principal Consultant, Lead Financial Management Consultant, Team Lead, Audit Consultant and Technical Advisor, with firms like Baah Acheamfour Consult which had metamorphosized to MICON CONSULT (Chartered Accountants, Certified Forensic Accountants, Forensic Auditors, Tax Consultants and Performance Assessors and Financial Management Consultants), Obap Services (Chartered Accountants and Management Consultants), SRC Consulting (Socio Economic & Community Development Consulting Firm), Multiple Linkages Consult (Management Consulting & Governance Firm) and Professional Alliance for Development Actions (Local Governance Consulting Firm) in the performance assessment of Metropolitan, District and Municipal Assemblies in Eastern, Ashanti, Brong Ahafo and Upper West Regions of Ghana. This performance assessment projects is funded by Government of Ghana and five Development Partners namely World Bank, CIDA, DANIDA, KfW and AfD and Ministry of Local Government and Rural Developments as the Implementing Agency. He also audited the 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th phases of 365 EU Micro Finance Projects in the three Northern Region of Ghana. He also audited Needs International (South African NGO) for three years.

Prior to joining Assurance Savings and Loans Limited as a Consultant, Deputy Managing Director/Chief Finance Officer, he had worked in the following executive position as Director of Finance of the Institute of Security, Disaster and Emergency Studies, the Financial Controller of Fairgreen Limited (a giant IT software engineering company in Ghana managing a turnover portforlio over (GHc35m as at 2013/14), Head of Internal Audit, A-Riis Company (formerly known as Presby Book Depot). He had and continue to serve on several Boards and technical select committees and has attended both local and foreign courses.
