Akua Bonsu – Owu (Mrs)

Akua is a Chartered Certified Tax Accountant, Chartered Accountant and Chartered Administrator and Management Consultant. She also holds an Executive Master of Business Administration Degree in Finance, Degree in Accounting and a Diploma in Accounting (Distinction) from the Business School, University of Ghana.

Mrs. Bonsu-Owu had attended several workshops and training programs and has 19 years’ experience in Public Finance Management. She served as acting Head of Systems Audit of the Audit and Investigations Unit (2010) and is currently the Deputy Head of Systems Audit.

She was the team leader for the CAGD which audited the Ghana Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS) for the first time. She also lead the CAGD team which investigated the ghost names on the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital’s payroll.

Akua consulted for SRC Consulting (Socio Economic & Community Development Consulting Firm) and Professional Alliance for Development Actions (Local Governance Consulting Firm) in the performance assessment of Metropolitan, District and Municipal Assemblies in Greater Accra and Volta, Ashanti, Brong Ahafo Regions of Ghana. This performance assessment projects is funded by Government of Ghana and five Development Partners namely World Bank, CIDA, DANIDA, KfW and AfD and Ministry of Local Government and Rural Developments as the Implementing Agency

She is one of the financial management and audit consultant at MICON CONSULT.
